My Solo-Travel Story: Unveiling the Free-Spirited Journey

Growing up in South Florida the tropical beach lifestyle was something that I knew from a very young age (Shown in picture to the left hehe). From school field trips to the beach to skipping school to go to the beach, the water always felt like home to me. I spent my post high school years on the west coast of Florida and I couldnt imagine ever leaving. I thought Florida would be my forever home until I took a trip out west to Phoenix, Arizona- little did I know that trip would change the trajectory of my life.

After my trip to Arizona and exploring a new place, I knew that Florida was my beginning but it most definitley was not my end. I spent the next 4 years devoting my time and energy to trying to build a life of full-time travel. I went to Hawaii, Tennessee, Costa Rica, New York City, Spain and more. I even went back to Pheonix about 5 years later to play with the idea of moving there. My life force tuned in to the energy of travel and living the free-spirited life I knew I was meant for. (If you know astrology, it's worth it to point out here I am a full blown saggitarius and I have every quality that comes with that, so we can't be too suprised I've found this to be my passion in life)

A turning point for me solo travel story

The summer of 2023 changed the way I would view travel for the rest of my life. I had made a plan with a close friend to go to Europe. We narrowed down to Spain and talked of all the cities we would visit. When plans changed and my friend couldn't make it anymore, I was taken back to when I was 19 and dreamed of backpacking alone through Europe. I asked myself is this reallly something I think I could do. Not even a month later my ticket was purchased and I realized all my dreams were about to come true. My trip taught me trust in myself I had never expereinced before. I could trust that I could learn to navigate a world I've never been to before, to stay safe and put myself in expereinces that would help me grow as a person- and that is exactly what happened. After this trip, I know my solo-travel story will only get more exciting as I become more and more confortable with myself abroad

What is in store for TrvlZen

I came up with the name TrvlZen back in 2021 when I wanted to start video diaries for the places I was going. Like so many others, life got "in the way" and I never fully put my energy into the brand. I came up with the name so that people could know the peacefulness and "Zen" that comes with solo travel. For me, it represents the ability to be where I want when I want, and not needing anyones approval or opinion. In other words, solo travelling allowes me to be at peace with my soul and fufill what I believe to be my divine purose.
