Here is my list of essential items I've learned I need on trips abroad as a low maitnence traveler.

Almost everything here you can get with Amazon Prime!

1. Portable Charger Solo-Travel Packing List

I feel like this one is a no brainer. Saved my life on long days out exploring or on the bus or train. Keeping your phone charged is a huge saftey precaution you can take while travelling alone. Here are some I reccomend

Small and takes up no luggage space (iPhone only) - ATGIH Portable Charger.(Amazon)

Top Rated (Apple & Samsung) - Anker Portable Charger (Amazon)

2. Outlet Adapter

europe adapter

In Europe all of the power outlets will be different from the standard in the US. You will need an adapter that will allow you to charge and use any electronic with you existing chords and cubes.

3. Folder / Envelope for important documents

Important documents you may need while travelling for long periods of time. Be sure to make copies of all idenitifcation documents in the case of an emergency.

  1. Passport

  2. Drivers Liscense or some form of Identification

  3. Visa (if needed)

  4. Health / Travel Insurance documents (if needed)

  5. Vaccination documents

  6. Itinerary Paperwork - this includes all bookings for stays as well as flights to and from each city/country

4. Lock

Keeping your things locked up in a hostel is so important. Part of staying in hostels is not knowing your roomates at all. No matter how nice someone may seem, at the end of the day everyone around you is a stranger, and using your common sense bis the best way to solo- travel. I use this one.

5. Mobile Hotspot

Now this is definitley in the pricer area and is not needed for the low-maitnence traveler. However, if you need to be connected to the internet a lot, or even just for saftey in a remote location, a mobile hotspot can save the day more often then not.

Verizon Jetpack (my mom has had this one for years and its tried and true)

GlocalMe - Cheaper version Solo-Travel Packing List

6. Headphones

wired headphones

Headphones are a MUST when you are looking for those moments to sit back and forget everything. I am a big wired headphone girly but of course, you may pick you poison weather it be airpods or beats.

I use Beats when in travel mode and I also use the apple wired headphones for day trips! I hate wearing headphones while walking around the streets because they are mostly noise cancelling.

7. Travel Journal

While away for 2 weeks, I kept a travel journal and it was the best idea I ever had. Allowing yourself to openly express how you are feeling throughout your journey is extremely liberating and only promotes growth and abundance for your life. I wrote about my travel days and how much I loved them but also hated them, but was also grateful to have the oppritunity to even expereince these problems. I bought my travel journal off a whim at a local vendor so I dont have any to recommend besides Amazon ones. Pick one that you like and is small to travel with

8. Water Bottle

Pretty self- explainatory. I have this one and I love the size, its not too big that it dosent fit anyhwhere but also not too small to not have enough water for a large portion of the day. They have so many options and are truly great quality

9. Clothes... duh

This will look different for everyone of course but i always stick to these guidelines to help me not overpack or underpack.

1. 2 pairs of shoes - Sneakers and Sandals

2. 3 casual shirts

3. One pair of jeans

4. 3 casual bottoms (these are usually workout leggings/comfy day pants for me)

5. 1 nice nighttime outfit.... just in case

6. Pajamas/Travel day clothes

Also, packing cubes will save your life. This pack from amazon is amazing!

10. Air Tag

If you use Apple, the Apple Air Tag allows you to track luggage or anything else the tag is on/in anywhere it goes.
